I cannot begin to say how thankful I am to have received these supplies and materials. The morning the box arrived I left the box on the counter and all of the students were so very excited about what was inside the box. Once I opened the box an explained that their are kind people all over the country who donated money to purchase things so we can have a better classroom their faces lit up. It touched my heart that you were able to fund my project to purchase the materials. The mystery box and alphabet phone center has been the biggest hit so far. We use the mystery box as a transition into our language part of the day. Several students walk up an ask all throughout the day can we play it. The phone center brings smiles upon their faces as they hear themselves speak. A few have even discovered that they talk really loud! The magnetic write and wipe strip has been extremely helpful with large group writing practice as we work on forming upper an lowercase letters. The photo name plates still await all parents permission to take their pictures, but once I have them and it is a work in the classroom I know they will be extremely excited. The primary journals will be used for daily writing practice so they are able to see the progression of their writing.

As a teacher moving to a new school you are often faced with the challenge of having to leave behind materials that belong to the school. The materials in this project will provide my classroom with the materials that are needed in letter recognition and writing to begin the school year. Writing, letter recognition and phonics are skills that are worked on at the beginning of the school year. It is my goal every school year to create strong, confident learners who love and enjoy learning. These materials will build the foundation to ensure they have a successful kindergarten school year.
